Terms of Service

Effective date: 18 April 2026Last updated: 18 April 2026

These Terms of Service („Terms“) form a legal agreement between you and Ruslan Rustemov, sole proprietor, operating the mobile application Unfold („Unfold“, „we“, „us“, or „our“). By downloading, accessing, or using Unfold, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

We’ve written these Terms to be readable. We’ve kept them short and have explained every important clause in plain language.

1. Who we are

The Service is operated by:

Ruslan Rustemov, sole proprietor

A. Hlinku 63/109, 921 01 Piešťany, Slovakia

IČO: 54844274

Email: support@unfoldfocus.com

Website: unfoldfocus.com

2. What Unfold is

Unfold is a mobile application that helps you take the first step on tasks you are avoiding. You type what you want to work on, we use artificial intelligence to break it down into a short action plan, and we guide you through a timed session.

Unfold is a productivity tool. It is not a medical device, therapy, mental-health treatment, or professional advice. If you are experiencing mental health difficulties, please contact a qualified professional.

3. Who can use Unfold

You must be at least 16 years old to use Unfold. By using the Service you confirm you meet this age requirement. If you are between 16 and 18, you confirm you have permission from a parent or legal guardian to accept these Terms on your behalf.

In jurisdictions where the minimum age for digital service consent is higher than 16, the higher local minimum applies.

You may not use Unfold if you are legally prohibited from doing so under the laws of your country, or if you have previously been banned from the Service.

4. Your account

You can use Unfold anonymously without creating an account. If you create one using Sign in with Apple, Sign in with Google, or email, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate information.
  • Keep your login credentials secure.
  • Take responsibility for all activity on your account.
  • Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access.

We are not liable for any loss resulting from unauthorised use of your account where you have not taken reasonable steps to secure it.

5. Free and paid plans

5.1 Free plan

Unfold is free to download and use with a limit of 3 sessions per calendar week. The counter resets every Monday at 00:00 in your local time zone.

5.2 Premium subscriptions

Premium unlocks unlimited sessions and additional features. Two plans are available:

  • Weekly subscription — USD $2.99 per week, no free trial, billed immediately.
  • Annual subscription — USD $29.99 per year, with a 7-day free trial for new subscribers.

Prices may vary by country and are shown at checkout in your local currency. Apple or Google may adjust prices in their stores.

5.3 How payments are processed

All subscription payments are handled by Apple App Store or Google Play, depending on the platform where you purchased. We never see or store your payment card details. Each store applies its own terms in addition to ours.

5.4 Auto-renewal

Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period (weekly or annually) unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date. You will be charged the then-current subscription price.

5.5 Free trials

The 7-day free trial on the annual plan converts into a paid annual subscription unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends. You can cancel at any time during the trial through your Apple ID or Google Play account settings without being charged.

5.6 Managing or cancelling your subscription

You can cancel your subscription at any time:

  • On iOS: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Unfold → Cancel Subscription.
  • On Android: Google Play Store → Profile → Payments and subscriptions → Subscriptions → Unfold → Cancel.

Cancelling stops future renewals. Your premium access continues until the end of the current billing period. Deleting the app does not cancel your subscription.

6. Refunds

All subscription fees are non-refundable, including for partially used subscription periods or unused features. We do not issue refunds or credits for subscriptions already paid.

6.1 EU/EEA consumers and statutory rights

If you are a consumer in the EU or EEA, you have a statutory 14-day right of withdrawal under Directive 2011/83/EU (and Slovak Act No. 102/2014 Coll.).

By starting to use Unfold immediately after purchase, you expressly consent to the immediate supply of the digital service and acknowledge that your right of withdrawal ends once the service has been fully supplied.

In practice: if you purchase a subscription and immediately generate an AI session plan, you have received the digital content, and your withdrawal right is waived. This is the same approach used by Spotify, Netflix, and most EU subscription apps.

Statutory consumer rights that cannot be waived under your national law remain unaffected.

6.2 How to request a refund where eligible

All purchases are made through Apple App Store or Google Play. If you believe you are entitled to a refund, you must request it from the relevant store:

  • Apple App Store: reportaproblem.apple.com
  • Google Play: support.google.com/googleplay

Whether a refund is granted is at Apple’s or Google’s sole discretion, subject to their refund policies. We cannot process refunds on their behalf.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use Unfold for any unlawful purpose or in breach of any applicable law.
  • Submit content that is abusive, threatening, defamatory, or violates someone else’s rights.
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of the Service.
  • Use automated systems (bots, scrapers) to access the Service.
  • Circumvent the 3-sessions-per-week free limit or any subscription paywall.
  • Create multiple accounts to evade restrictions.
  • Interfere with the security or integrity of the Service or our infrastructure.
  • Use the Service in a way that could damage, disable, or overload it.

We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these rules.

8. Intellectual property

8.1 Our property

The Unfold app, brand, logo, design, code, and all related content are owned by Ruslan Rustemov and protected by copyright and trademark laws. We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use Unfold for your personal, non-commercial use, subject to these Terms.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or create derivative works from Unfold except as permitted by these Terms or by law.

8.2 Content you submit

You retain ownership of the task descriptions, feedback, and other content you submit through the Service („User Content“). By submitting User Content, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, process, display, and transmit it for the purpose of providing the Service to you.

If you submit feedback or suggestions, you grant us a perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free licence to use that feedback without restriction, including to improve the Service.

8.3 AI-generated content

When you use Unfold, AI-generated action plans („Generated Plans“) are produced based on your input. To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • You own the Generated Plans produced for you through the Service.
  • You may use, share, or repurpose them for any lawful personal or commercial purpose.

In return, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use anonymised and aggregated data derived from your sessions to improve the Service, measure feature performance, and develop new features. This licence does not cover your task text or any content that could identify you.

8.4 About AI-generated output

Generated Plans are produced by third-party AI models (currently OpenAI). AI output can be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable for your actual situation. You are responsible for evaluating any plan before acting on it. We make no warranty that Generated Plans will be accurate, appropriate, or useful.

9. Third-party services

Unfold relies on third-party services that have their own terms and privacy policies:

  • Apple App Store (Apple Inc.) — payments, authentication.
  • Google Play (Google LLC) — payments, authentication.
  • OpenAI, L.L.C. — AI plan generation.
  • Supabase Inc. — backend storage.
  • Firebase (Google LLC) — crash reporting and analytics.

Your use of these providers through Unfold is subject to their terms. We are not responsible for their conduct, outages, or changes to their services.

10. Disclaimer of warranties

Unfold is provided „as is“ and „as available“, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, uninterrupted availability, and accuracy of AI-generated content.

We do not warrant that:

  • The Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free.
  • Generated Plans will meet your needs or produce specific outcomes.
  • The Service will be available in your location at all times.

This clause does not limit any statutory rights you have under applicable consumer protection law that cannot be waived by contract.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or related to the Service, whether in contract, tort, or otherwise, is limited to the greater of:

  • The amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or
  • Fifty euros (€50).

We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or exemplary damages, including loss of profit, loss of data, or loss of opportunity, even if we were informed such damages were possible.

Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for:

  • Death or personal injury caused by our negligence.
  • Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
  • Any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded under Slovak or EU consumer protection law.

If you are a consumer in the EU/EEA, your statutory rights are not affected by this clause.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Ruslan Rustemov from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from:

  • Your breach of these Terms.
  • Your misuse of the Service.
  • Your violation of any law or third-party right.
  • Your User Content.

This clause does not apply where such indemnification would be prohibited by applicable consumer law.

13. Termination

13.1 By you

You can stop using Unfold at any time by:

  • Deleting the app from your device, and/or
  • Deleting your account via Settings → Delete account (if you have one), and
  • Cancelling any active subscription via Apple or Google.

13.2 By us

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service, without notice and without refund, if:

  • You breach these Terms, including the acceptable use rules in Section 7.
  • We are required to do so by law or by court order.
  • We discontinue the Service (see Section 14).

On termination, your licence to use Unfold ends immediately. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 8, 10, 11, 12, 15, and 16) will survive.

14. Changes to the Service

We may add, change, or remove features at any time. We may also discontinue the Service entirely, giving at least 30 days‘ notice where practical. If we permanently discontinue a paid feature during your subscription period, we will provide a pro-rata refund for the unused portion of that period where required by law.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will:

  • Update the „Last updated“ date at the top of this page.
  • Notify you by email (if you have an account) or in-app at least 14 days before the change takes effect.

Your continued use of Unfold after the effective date of a change means you accept the revised Terms. If you do not agree, you must stop using the Service and may cancel any active subscription.

16. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Slovak Republic, without regard to conflict of law principles.

16.1 EU/EEA consumers

If you are a consumer residing in the EU or EEA, the mandatory consumer protection rules of your country of residence apply in addition to Slovak law. You may also bring any dispute before the courts of your country of residence.

16.2 Other users

For all other users, the courts of the Slovak Republic shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms, subject to any mandatory local law that provides otherwise.

16.3 Alternative dispute resolution

The European Commission provides an online dispute resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr. EU consumers may use this platform to resolve disputes out of court.

You can also contact us directly at support@unfoldfocus.com — most issues can be resolved quickly without formal action.

17. Miscellaneous

  • Entire agreement. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, form the complete agreement between you and us regarding the Service.
  • Severability. If any provision is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full effect.
  • No waiver. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of our right to do so later.
  • Assignment. You may not assign your rights under these Terms. We may assign ours to a successor in a business transfer, subject to Section 7 of our Privacy Policy.
  • Force majeure. We are not liable for failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control (e.g. outages of third-party providers, natural disasters, government actions).
  • Language. These Terms are written in English. Translations are provided for convenience only. The English version prevails in case of conflict.
